2018 REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEETS
The date for the regional Cross Country meets is Saturday, October 20, 2018. Regional meets will be permitted to start in the morning. Cross Country regional assignments were posted on the KSHSAA website on September 28.

The state cross country meet is Saturday, October 27, which is an ACT testing date.

REGIONAL ENTRIES SUBMITTED ONLINE
All schools are required to submit their regional cross country entries ONLINE! The KSHSAA will provide regional managers their meet file electronically containing all entries. This will reduce a lot of time consuming work for our volunteer host regional managers. The online entry system opened on Wednesday, October 3. ALL REGIONAL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE BY NOON ON OCTOBER 15. Directions on how to submit the entries will be emailed to cross country coaches and AD’s.

UNATTACHED RUNNERS-NOT PERMITTED
Several calls have come in asking about runners participating as "unattached" at member school cross country meets. This is not permitted. If a student is not a member of a school team, they cannot participate in a member school athletic event. This includes cross country meets. Only students who are members of another member or approved schools cross country team may run in races for other member schools.

RUN-OUTS
After being called to the starting line at a cross country meet for the starters final instructions, all members of Team A run away from the starting line for a team cheer. The starter warns the team that if any further runouts occur before the start, those involved will be disqualified for unacceptable conduct.

RULING: Illegal procedure. Once teams have been called to the starting line by the starter for final instruction, no further run-outs shall be permitted. Any second violation shall result in disqualification. (NFHS Rule 8-4-4)
