2025 Wanda May Vinson Scholarship Recipients

The recipients of the Wanda May Vinson Scholarships for 2025 have been announced by Sarah Smith, Director of the Kansas Association for Youth (KAY) program, sponsored by the Kansas State High School Activities Association. The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who have provided outstanding leadership in the Kansas Association for Youth, achieved high scholastic standing, and have made contributions of service to their school and community.

The 2025 recipients include:

  • Ava McKinley - Seneca-Nemaha Central HS
  • Brooklyn Countryman - Quinter HS
  • Kylee Barlett - Rose Hill HS
  • Ava Dix - Stockton HS
  • Ryan Prewo - Logan HS
  • Hazel Zagula - Wichita-Kapaun Mt. Carmel HS
  • Lily Boeding - Wichita-Kapaun Mt. Carmel HS
  • Carys Price - Cottonwood Falls-Chase County HS
  • Ellie Miller - Norton Community HS
  • Mallorie Cooper - McPherson HS
  • Zoey Schwindt - Otis-Bison HS
  • Meredith Peterson - Lenexa-St. James Academy
  • Jenna Barnes - Kensington-Thunder Ridge HS
  • Morgan Toedman - Sabetha HS

The honorees will use the money to attend the school of their choice. The scholarships, named for the founder and former director of the Kansas Association for Youth, Wanda May Vinson, are made possible through gifts from the KAY members of Kansas and other supporters of the Kansas Association for Youth.

2025 marks the 68th year of awarding Wanda May Vinson Scholarships to high school seniors who are active KAY members. During this time span, 630 students have received these scholarships, reaching a total amount of $152,300.00.
