IDEAS FOR RULES CHANGES
All officials and coaches who would like to suggest a rule change that is not a part of the survey are encouraged to contact Sarah Smith at the KSHSAA (785-273-5329); ssmith@kshsaa.org. Recommendations for NFHS playing rules are needed by November 13, 2024. Coaches can make recommendations for the KSHSAA volleyball program and those will be forwarded to the KCA volleyball representative for a survey item.

UNIFORM COMPLIANCE
UNIFORMS: Please ensure that your uniforms are compliant. We are still seeing uniforms with numbers that are not a clear contrast to the body color of the uniform. Remember that the trim of the number DOES NOT MATTER. If the body color is a dark color, the number color should be a light color and vice versa. See pages 21-22 in the KSHSAA Volleyball Manual. If you are ordering new uniforms, please ensure that they are compliant. Feel free to email a mockup to Sarah Smith at ssmith@kshsaa.org for approval.

MATCH CONTRACTS FOR THE 2025 SEASON
No earlier than November 3, 2024, League Commissioners and/or school athletic directors will be extending contracts for matches and tournaments for the 2025 volleyball season. Officials are responsible for and encouraged to contact league commissions and/or athletic directors regarding your availability and interest in working matches. As a reminder, only registered officials can be assigned to varsity volleyball matches.

UPDATED ADDRESS/PERSONAL INFORMATION
Officials are reminded that if you have a change of address or change in your name, phone number, or email address, you are responsible for going to Arbiter and make the appropriate changes. In addition, all officials are strongly encouraged to post an appropriate personal photo on this site. Your picture is not available to the public. It is very helpful to school administrators and for fellow officials. Remember that the KSHSAA cannot contact you if you do not let us know of any contact changes.

OFFICIALS FOR THE 2025-2026
This season we had 797 KSHSAA registered volleyball officials. While the registered numbers may seem rather large, if you consider how many volleyball matches take place across the state on any given night or weekend, there continues to be an ongoing need to recruit officials to meet the needs of member schools. During the off-season, all officials are encouraged to promote officiating with friends, former coaches, and players.

THANK YOU!
On behalf of the KSHSAA membership, thank you for your service this year as a KSHSAA registered volleyball official or a volleyball coach. School activities are an exciting part of the school year. Coaches and officials play a valuable role, ensuring that the activity is played in an educational environment.
