2023

  • Area 1 -- STRIVE TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN
    (care packages for community and involve MS and elementary students)
  • Area 2 -- FUN AND LAUGHTER
    (activities that bring fun and laughter to their clubs and/or communities)
  • Area 3 -- LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY
    (walk/talk, school games, presenters, self-care moments)
  • Area 4 -- STRIVE TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN
    (care packages for 1st responders, nursing homes, etc., city-wide clean-up, help school faculty & janitors, paraprofessionals, cooks, etc.)
  • Area 5 -- RESPONSIBILITY: Save Lives, Drive Responsibly
    (projects to promote safe driving and to avoid distracted driving)
  • Area 6 -- "TODAY FOR TOMORROW"
    (Emphasize recreation, appreciation, and service)

2022

  • Area 1 – TO GIVE MYSELF A CAUSE
  • Creating and distributing care packages to people in need

  • Area 2 - TO GIVE MYSELF A CAUSE
  • Fundraising/donations to an organization of choosing

  • Area 3 - TO ENJOY FUN AND LAUGHTER
  • Recreation reconnection: connecting communities through activities

  • Area 4 - APPRECIATION/GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE
  • Appreciating a specific cause during citizenship week

2021

  • Area 1 - APPRECIATION
  • Appreciate Community workers-health care, law enforcement, school staff, etc.

  • Area 2 - MENTAL HEALTH
  • Projects aimed at mental health for vets, kids, nursing homes, etc.

  • Area 3 - TO LOVE & BE LOVED
  • Support those impacted by pandemic-businesses, health care, kids, etc.

  • Area 4 - TO ENJOY FUN & LAUGHTER
  • Emphasis on recreational activities for students of all ages

  • Area 5 - RECREATION (FOR A CAUSE)
  • Conduct recreation activities, use money earned for a club cause.

  • Area 6 - APPRECIATION (FOR MILITARY)
  • Care packages, assisting vets, writing letters, etc.

2020

  • Area 1 – HEALTH CARE WORKERS
  • (yard signs, care packages, notes of appreciation, etc.)

  • Area 2 – MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
  • (focus on those in care homes that are isolated, no visitors)

  • Area 3 – HEALTH, HOPE & HEALING
  • (donations to COVID-19 relief funds, making masks for churches, etc.)

  • Area 4 – LIVING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
  • (provide COVID coping strategies, positivity posters, etc.)

  • Area 5 – SENIOR CITIZENS
  • (visit(if allowed), adopt-weekly letters, small gifts, calls, etc.)

  • Area 6 – FIRST RESPONDERS
  • (chalk graffiti outside hospitals, thank you posters, virtual thank you, etc.)

2019

  • Area 1 – TO LOVE & BE LOVED
  • ("Recognize and respond" to projects in their community)

2018

    (Bring service to children through engaging activities)

    (Projects that beautify the community, care for others, projects for the schools)

    (Appreciation to everyday hero’s in our school, community, nation, world)

    (Focus on grade school students - empower, mentoring)
  • Area 6 – TO GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE
    (Anything that gives to a cause of their choice)

2017

  • Area 1 – “SPEAK UP & SPEAK OUT” MENTAL HEALTH & HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS:
    Awareness via skits, posters, assemblies, etc.
  • Area 2 – STEP IT UP ACTIVITY-A-THON:
    Conduct a special activity-based day with any age group.
  • Area 3 – SUPPORTING FELLOW STUDENTS TO LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE VALUED:
    Example: a compliment wall, shout-outs on the morning announcements, etc.)
  • Area 4 – MENTAL HEALTH FOR TEENAGERS:
    Speakers/materials on depression, suicide prevention, bullying, etc.
  • Area 5 – HEALTHY SNACK ATTACK:
    Members make/provide healthy snack options to others.
  • Area 6 – HOST AN ACTIVITY DAY:
    Fun Run, Tri-athalon, Olympic day, etc. (those attending/participating donate hygiene products)

2016

  • Area 1 – APPRECIATION: Acts of appreciation for those in schools & community.
  • Area 2 – APPRECIATION: Appreciation for community service leaders.
  • Area 3 – TO LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE: Promote healthy living & lifestyle in community.
  • Area 4 – RECREATION & GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE: Various projects in the community with funds raised going to a worthy cause of choosing.
  • Area 5 – LEADERSHIP: Mentoring children through participation in various projects.
  • Area 6 – LEADERSHIP & TODAY FOR TOMORROW: Leadership projects with younger students to teach sportsmanship, service project ideas, leadership, teamwork, etc.

2015

  • Area 1 – LIFE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE: Promoting a healthy lifestyle for all.
  • Area 2 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE: Helping foster children & those with special needs.
  • Area 3 – STRIVE TO BE A GOOD CITIZEN: Focus on cleaning up our communities.
  • Area 4 – TO LOVE & BE LOVED: Working with Nursing Homes & Shut-Ins.
  • Area 5 – SERVICE: Random Acts of Kindness in our communities
  • Area 6 – APPRECIATION: Acts of appreciation for those who serve us.

2014

  • Area 1 – APPRECIATION: Acts of appreciation directed towards our military personnel.
  • Area 2 – HEALTH: Projects that will benefit children with illnesses.
  • Area 3 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE: Projects focusing on illnesses at all age levels.
  • Area 4 –APPRECIATION: Acts of appreciation directed towards our military personnel & families.
  • Area 5 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE: Acts of appreciation and service to those in our community.
  • Area 6 – HEALTH: Service projects with/for kids that promote health and is fun.

2013

  • Area 1 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE (Activity of choosing for Cancer Awareness)
  • Area 2 – HEALTH (Activity of choosing for Suicide/Depression Awareness and Prevention)
  • Area 3 – SERVICE (Any activity of choosing targeted for children)
  • Area 4 – RECREATION (Host recreation event of choosing-collect canned food as entry fee)
  • Area 5 – TO LIVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE (Nutrition Tradition: promote healthy lifestyle)
  • Area 6 – RECREATION (Promote recreational activities for all ages)

2012

  • Area 1 – TO THINK CREATIVELY (Creative activity involving children)
  • Area 2 – RECREATION (Organize a day of games to raise money for organization of choosing)
  • Area 3 – SERVICE (Support an overseas initiative/opportunity of choosing)
  • Area 4 – SERVICE (Project/activity to serve neighbors)
  • Area 5 – HEALTH (Project of choosing for Cancer Awareness)
  • Area 6 – APPRECIATION (Appreciation project for those who are “under-appreciated”)

2011

  • Area 1 – HEALTH (promote a healthy lifestyle with children)
  • Area 2 – SERVICE (assistance with disaster relief in Joplin – work, fundraise, etc.)
  • Area 3 – APPRECIATION (raising/donating money to support school extracurricular activities)
  • Area 4 - SERVICE (raise/donate money to a world project)
  • Area 5 - TO GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE (provide assistance/awareness for drought areas)
  • Area 6 – SERVICE (providing service to others without spending any money)

2010

  • Area 1 – APPRECIATION (appreciation projects for those in school & comm. who go unnoticed)
  • Area 2 – SERVICE (conduct local Penny War for service organization of choosing)
  • Area 3 – APPRECIATION (appreciation projects for those in school & comm. who go unnoticed)
  • Area 4 - SERVICE (community service projects that promote “Going GREEN”)
  • Area 5 - SERVICE (raise money by collecting cans/cleaning up comm., donate to LA Gulf Oil Spill)
  • Area 6 – APPRECIATION (creative ways to show appreciation to all school personnel)

2009

  • Area 1 – TO SHARE WITH MY FAMILY & FRIENDS (invite others to participate with KAY club in service projects)
  • Area 2 – SERVICE (Collect Teddy Bears, bring to RC, then donate
  • Area 3 – TO ENJOY FUN & LAUGHTER (Host “Fun Night”-games night, comedy night, play Day, etc.)
  • Area 4 - APPRECIATION (School appreciation projects)
  • Area 5 - HEALTH (sell balloons to raise money for charity of choosing; release)
  • Area 6 – CHARACTER (trash/re-cycling pick-up projects with kids)

2008

  • Area 1 – TO ENJOY FUN & LAUGHTER (Fun activity with Sr. Citizens)
  • Area 2 – HEALTH, RECREATION (Fishing Derby, proceeds to Cancer Research)
  • Area 3 – TO TAKE THE LONG LOOK (Projects for those who provide service)
  • Area 4 - RECREATION (School activity/tournament to promote recreation)
  • Area 5 - SERVICE (CANcel school – Collect canned goods for food pantry-contest)
  • Area 6 – APPRECIATION (Letters, care packages, etc. to Military Troops)

2007

  • Area 1 – APPRECIATION (Recognize public servants)
  • Area 2 – GIVE MYSELF TO A CAUSE (Disaster relief; Assist at nursing home)
  • Area 3 – ENTHUSIASM (Read to children)
  • Area 4 – HEALTH (Collect stuffed animals & donate to hospitals)
  • Area 5 - SERVICE (“Crush Cancer”—collect cans for recycle & donate money)
